Tammy Sue
Words By: Tommy
Butler
Music By: Tommy Butler
Well I was
walkin' out one evening it was starting
to snow
And I was movin' kinda slowly; I had no
place to go
But then I saw her standing there just
outside of the bar
And her skirt was hitched as highly as
her head was hung low.
I said "hello" she looked at me
like nothin' better to do:
"I'm Tammy Sue."
Well we didn't say a word we just walked
out to my car
And then we started drivin...couldn't
tell you how far.
But when we saw the motel lights we knew
just what we had to do
And we were movin' so quickly that we
left the door ajar
But when the mornin' come it looked like
she decided to move
'Cuz there was no Tammy Sue
Well I won't forget the night it was the
best of my life
And if I'd a seen her in the mornin'
would have made her my (mumble)
I looked for Tammy Sue but she was
nowhere in sight
She just left me with the memories of
that wonderful night.
Well let me tell you, son, there's one
thing that you don't want to do
And that's Tammy Sue.
